- Bladed Dragons: these dragons have spikes and spines all over that can be flattened and softened at will but when rigid, have sharp edges that can slice through bone. They also can squirt blood from their eyes to blind enemies. Typical shades are grey and copper
- Example: Syreth and Srago
- Diving Dragons: the only dragons who can remain submerged in water for two hours at a time and can dive as far as time allows before they need to breathe again. Their scales are smooth compared to other dragon types and not as armored, but they are the strongest swimmers. Variation in the wings allow stronger swimming and a unique pocket over their chests allow protection of their fire while under water. They have the strongest jaws and come in shades of blue, grey and turquoise
- Example: Ari and Harvy’s dragons who defeated a kraken
- Flail Dragon: have armored scales and a powerful whip-like tail with a spiked, armored tip. Typically are shades of black, red and brown.
- Fylchers: small, eagle-sized dragons.
- Gem Dragons: gem-like scales catch light and each scale can rotate independently to catch light and blind enemies. Sharp scales can cut on impact and can be softened when not threatened. They also shriek to stun their enemies. Exist in every color but black and white are the rarest
- Stealth Dragons: friendliest next to Flychers. These dragons can change color to blend into their surroundings and have a tail that functions almost like a tentacle to grab things. They are less beneficial in battle but excellent climbers and the only silent fliers in dragonkind. Mainly come in shades of green and turquoise, though there has been cases of albinism that produce bleached scales and red eyes.
- Example: where Zelos was found and what he is assumed to be, though his unusual coloring and more make his heritage questionable
- Sting Dragons: most temperamental breed. They have poisonous stingers both on wings and their tail. When they open their mouths, they reveal razor sharp pincers. Due to the pincers, their heads have a different shape compared to the others, a wider one to conceal the pincers. They come in shades of black, brown, and copper red
